Amilia is here!
We are so happy to announce the arrival of Amilia Lyn Chatterton! She was born August 25, 2012 and was 9 lbs 2 oz, 21 inches long. It was a long journey to get her here. Just as we were about to start more aggressive infertility options, we found out we were pregnant on New Year's Eve 2011. We were so thrilled to learn we were having a girl! In June 2012, we were told that there were cysts on the baby's left kidney. For the rest of the summer, we went to see a perinatologist and had monitoring twice a week. We had consults with a urologist and cardiologist as well. Her heart looked good from what they could see and the other kidney was functioning normally throughout the pregnancy. Follow ups after birth confirmed a diagnosis of polycystic kidney disease, which is not life threatening when the other kidney continues to function properly. She will be monitored 2-3 times a year. At this time the need for any surgery is unlikely. We are so grateful for our little miracle.
